Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?"
Actually, who are you not to be?
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.

We were all born to make manifest the power that is within us.

As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

-Marianne Williamson from "A Return to Love"

I am very honored that she identified me as her inspiration for this piece.

In no particular order these quotes from various sources not only speak to me but of me. They serve to illustrate who I am, how I feel, and what I believe in. As time allows, I plan to write out a bio. A well-thought out, descriptive bio on who I am. That would be sometime soon after I'm determined who I am. Which is the general purpose of this journal. Gee.sorta like we just went in a circle, eh? Was the ride fun for you, too?

"How do you pick up the threads of an old life? How do you go on, when in your heart you begin to understand there is no going back.
There are some things that time can not mend.
Some hurts that go too deep... that have taken hold."
~ Frodo, Lord of the Rings

"All it takes for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing." ~Edmund Burke
"I would believe only in a God that knows how to Dance." ~Friedrich Nietzsche
"There is no worse death than that of hope." ~Arthur in King Arthur
"Death cannot stop love, it can only delay it for a little while." ~The Princess Bride
"You don't have to run faster than the bear, just faster than your slowest friend." ~Unknown
"What we do in life...echoes in eternity." ~Maximus in Gladiator
"sometimes the most enlightened goddess has to kick some idiot-arse!" [info]rowangolightly
"In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends." ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
"Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be.
This is the interrelated structure of reality."
~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

"We have come full circle, Lord. I would like to think there is some higher meaning in this. It certainly would reflect well on You."
~Phillipe in LadyHawke

"All I can say is that you have soooo much courage. More than you can possibly know. [...]
You are the woman, mother and friend one should be proud to have in their lives."
~[info]piccolatesoro, my dear friend of 17 years, Alesia

"You're more than just anything. You are Mara, Goddess of the Server, Queen of the Web, Prized Leader of a Usenet Faction and, after coffee of course, a fine traveling companion. :-)" ~ [info]docjeff

My LiveJournal has a few rules. Please read and abide by them.

  • Please do not email me chain letters, jokes, inspirational quotes, etc.I know that for some people being online is all about fun and games...but that's not me. For me, being online is my business, how I earn my living.

  • What you read here, stays here. 'Nuff said, hopefully.

  • Never presume to tell me what to do or how to live my life simply because I write about personal situations herein. Don't try to "fix" me. You are always welcome to share your experience, strength and hope, and to share what has worked for you when faced with similar situations. But never presume to know how to live my life better than I do. In painful life situations, there are no easy answers, and it's not going to be solved in an LJ entry or comment. Don't try.

  • Anyone may add me to their friends list without asking. Approximately 10% of my posts are public, and by adding me you will still only be seeing my public entries, unless I choose to reciprocate. It's nice to be notified someone has added me by seeing a comment on one of my public posts, if only a "Hi there, I added you" comment. If you add me without a peep and never comment, I don't see myself adding you back.

  • I don't believe in "working for comments", I write what I need to write here, and look for others who do the same. If I need something, I ask. I appreciate others who are as direct and don't play games like whining because no one ever comments in their journals... On the other hand, I do require some level of interaction, otherwise it's too much like voyeurism. If you don't have anything insightful to share, you can at least humor me and laugh at my jokes.

  • Use common sense here. If you have to, BORROW some.
Don't be rude to my other friends in my LJ.
Don't create drama here...I have plenty of my own, thanks.
You are expected to behave as a grown up for the duration of your stay within my journal.
Don't argue with those who have opposing views, be it me or others on my flist. You're welcome to voice an opinion, which is different than just being an argumentative asshat.
